Fresh Linen

Dimensions50 × 50 cm

This picture is about purity, innocence and those simple moments of childhood that remain in our memory forever. I depicted an ordinary scene - laundry drying on a rope, but behind this simplicity there is a much deeper story. The purity of linen becomes a symbol of the purity of life positions, sincere thoughts and the inner light that we have in childhood. This is the time when the world seems simpler, and happiness can be found in ordinary things. This plot can remind you of the house where we grew up, a familiar yard, a sunny morning or that favorite trip to my grandmother, where it was always warm, cozy and really good. It's the smell of freshly washed laundry, the sun on your face, the familiar yard and the feeling that you are waiting. The peculiarity of the painting is its three-dimensional elements, thanks to which an ordinary everyday scene literally goes beyond the canvas. I used a real thread, which I tied through the composition, and made the fabric voluminous - it is not just drawn, but physically hangs from the rope, creating a feeling of true whiteness. To fix the fabric, I used wooden clothespins, which became part of the composition. They add naturalness to the work and further blur the line between painting and the real scene. I wanted to show that the most valuable memories are often born from the most ordinary things. We don't always need big events to feel happy. Sometimes it is enough to return with your thoughts to the courtyard of your childhood, remember your home or your grandmother's hands - and it becomes warm inside again. This picture is about a house to which we can return mentally for the rest of our lives. About the purity of children's thoughts, the sincerity of feelings and warmth that cannot be washed or lost over time.
